Valentine's Day is fast approaching and you're in the midst of selecting the perfect spot for your OBX wedding. Why not grab your significant other and head down to the Outer Banks for a romantic weekend? ... There's a great evening event happening that Saturday in Manteo and you can spend the day touring your short list of event homes/venues for your big day!
The Lost Colony is hosting a Valentine's Dance where you can enjoy a lovely evening of dinner, dancing and fun with elegant catering, live dance music and a silent auction. When: Saturday, February 14, 2009. Where: 108 Budleigh Street, Downtown Manteo. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Roanoke Island Historical Association. Click Here for more information on purchasing tickets.
The First Colony Inn, Nags Head's Only Historic Bed & Breakfast Inn, has a few rooms still available for the Valentine's weekend, or you could book a short stay in a smaller home or condo with Village Realty ... maybe something with a cozy fireplace the two of you can snuggle up in front of? You may want to call ahead to determine which properties on your list of wedding homes you're considering booking would be open that weekend for you to tour. Call 800-548-9688 and Village's friendly specialists will be happy to help. They're here Saturdays and Sundays 9am to 5pm and can have keys and directions ready for you.
Until Next Time,
Your OBX Wedding Blogger

Great page for beach weddings. I helped plan my sisters in South Nags head during October. We had a sea glass theme with the bridal party and mothers is sea glass jewelry and piles of it spread throughout the house for decoration.
We were fortunate to be able to have a bonfire 2 nights in a row, after the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. This was almost a miracle for the OBX!
The best advice i can give is plan for WIND! Hair, decorations, etc as it is a predominate force on the OBX
I also do MANY beach weddings for my customers using sea glass in jewelry at http://www.bytheseajewelry.com and have a none commercial site for sea glass lovers at http://www.seaglasslovers.ning.com

Hi,
I live in Southern Shores for part of the year and have been making sea glass jewelry for a living for over twenty years. I created the original Ning social networking site for sea glass collectors. There are many artists that make sea glass jewelry and other sea glass items for weddings in our network. We recently started a group in our network that is all about sea glass weddings. Please feel free to join us as our network is an excellent resource for anyone planning a beach wedding.
Thanks,
Lisl Armstrong

I like your style, the fact that your site is a little bit different makes it so interesting, I get fed up of seeing same-old-same-old all of the time. I've just stumbled this page for you
