Ocracoke Island Named A Top 10 Beach Wedding Destination

Ocracoke Island, NC was just took the number six spot in a Top 10 Beach Wedding Destinations article by MyBeachFavors.com. Here's why they say Ocracoke Island makes the grade:

"6. Ocracoke Island is part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and boasts almost 16 miles of pristine, undeveloped beaches.  This island, which is accessible by ferry, private boat, or plane, is located at the southernmost tip of the Outer Banks.  Because under 1000 people call Ocracoke Island home, this is the ideal location for those who really want to get away from it all!"

If you're thinking about an Ocracoke Island wedding, you'll need a marriage license from Hyde County. Also, if you want to have your ceremony on the beach or the grounds of the lighthouse, you'll need a permit from the National Park Service as well.  Click here for more details on marriage license and permitting requirements, costs and timing.
